Umamie was born from the need to promote Sustainable Gastronomy and a way of producing, elaborating and consuming our food that does not endanger the environment and that can be maintained over time.
Who is behind this project?
I am Gustavo Alba, creator of Umamie, where we prepare and teach how to prepare delicious and healthy food, and where we propose a new way of relating to food.
My main concern is that our way of consumption does not endanger the environment, and that this way of acting can be maintained over time, so I decided to do my bit by spreading with our work and our workshops a way to minimize the impact we generate when producing our food.
Our trajectory begins in the hotel school where I study and travel to Sweden with the Erasmus scholarship, a place where I was impressed by their culinary customs and their ways of preserving food. Years later, the seed of Umamie arose, a space where I could express my concerns.
